Bardoli Heart Camp

Another bumper camp. We did not expect the no of patients that turned up in the camp. Over 600 were registered, medically checked, tested & then evaluated by the surgeons . The Bardoli Seva Dal turned up in droves & the Vyara Seva Dal turned up in full form as well. The Camp was at the BABS high school in Sardar Chowk in Bardoli. A heart camp requires separate rooms for Echo/ECG testing, one for the intial checkup by the medical officer, another one for the surgeon for final evaluation. The progression ends with the room manned bythe hospital adminstrative staff where patients recommended by the doctor are given dates for operation at the hospital. Arrangements were made at the school for all of these. Plus you will have the seperate area for intitial registration where preregistered patients & new patients are registered. Seva Dal is deployed at all points to ensure flow of patients to the doctors in a orderly manner. Seperate enclosure is there for breakfast, Lunch & tea for all the patients, their rel;atives etc.Breakfast was a nice poha & tea , Lunch was fillling meal of sabsis, rotis, rice, mithai, farsan, papad. Meals were served to all patients & their relatives, around Over 1500 people had a meal. There was also this massive VIP Brigade which turned up. Over 75 VIPs including Chairmans of Sugar factories, NRIS ( Loads of them), a couple of MPs, MLAs, politicos. prominent Businessmen. We hatd to literally strain to accomodate them all on the dais. Was wondering whether the dais could bear the strain!!!!.

The Registration counter is the normally the busiest atthe begining of the camp. Our hospital registrations experts Rajesh Mehta & Anand Patel were on the job guiding the Bardoli Seva Dal to ensure nobody loses their turn & no patient is turned away.

The First patient to get a date was Anusya Bhandari-5 years. from Bardoli. (seen in the pic with Gafoor Bilakhia). Also a view of the registration counter . Our Managing Trustee Kanubhai Patel is addressing the gathering.

More posts on the Bardoli camp coming up.

Bardoli Heart Camp

Brisk preparations for the Bardoli Heart Camp are on. Meetings are being conducted on a daily basis. Logistics of the Echo machines is always a issue. Earlier the feedback pointed to a 250 patient heartcamp but as always Swami keeps us on edge. The latest we hear is more than 400 patients are expected leading us to manage extra doctors, medical professionals & technicians, apart from the additional echo machines.  Bardoli is near to the Dangs District, the tribal belt of Gujarat, expect some patients from there as well. As I write this, We are off to Bardoli in the next hour.

Patient awake during heart surgery

Recently on 11th November there was a surgery performed with the patient awake, a first of its kind in Rajkot. Patient is able to open her eyes when prompted to. Kanubhai Patel always reminds us that Swami wants the highest standards of healthcare & this is simply a reflection of that very thought.Kudos to the medical officers & surgeons who are working towards consistently higher standards

A new beginning

Sairam

On our weekly Thursday trip to the Sathya Sai Hospital to Rajkot, Manoj Bhimani mentioned the fact that it would be a good idea to have a blog about the hospital. It would help help all the people associated around the globe & India to have a idea about the going ons inside the hospital.

This blog is dedicated to Sri Sathya Sai Baba whose blessings, guidance, presence & inspiration lead all of us to become better human beings.
